Cloud DevOps Engineer

Cust2Mate is seeking an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure team,
responsible for managing the Cloud Management System. As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will
be at the forefront of developing and maintaining our cloud computing infrastructure. Collaborating
closely with Backend (BE) and Frontend (FE) developers, you will ensure seamless deployment
and operation of applications in a cloud environment. Your role will encompass designing and
implementing the product’s cloud architecture, continuous automation, and relentless performance
improvement.

Role Overview:
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer at Cust2Mate, you will be responsible for designing, implementing,
and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Your work will directly impact our
ability to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers while maintaining a secure
and efficient cloud environment. This role assumes a significant portion of hands-on, reporting
directly to CTO.

Responsibilities:
● DevOps Solutions: Design and implement DevOps solutions on Azure to enhance our
cloud infrastructure.
● Automation: Collaborate with software, integration, and operations teams to automate the
build, test, and deployment processes.
● Deployment Optimization: Implement the most efficient methods for code deployment
from development to production while prioritising safety.
● Infrastructure as Code: Create and maintain deployment pipelines and infrastructure as
code to ensure consistency and scalability.
● Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and capacity utilisation, proactively
addressing any issues.
● Production Environment: Develop and maintain production environment infrastructure,
including containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and configuration
management (Ansible).
● Environment Management: Streamline the maintenance of various environments,
including production, staging, testing, and development.
● Tier-3 Support: Act as the technical focal point for the tier-3 support team to investigate
and resolve production environment issues and malfunctions.
● System Administration: Perform routine system administration tasks, such as user access
management, upgrades, patches, backups, restores, and scheduled processes.
● Cloud IaaS Management: Hands-on experience in building, delivering, and managing
cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments, primarily using Azure platforms.
● Self-Service Environment Deployment: Implement and maintain a ‘self-service’ Public
Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS), enabling product and project teams to deploy and
manage environments efficiently.
● Security and Scalability: Ensure the scalability, reliability, security, and efficiency of
Cust2Mate systems, adhering to regulated data security standards.

Skills & Qualifications:
● Cloud Platforms: Proficiency with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google
Cloud).
● Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or
ARM templates.
● Containerization: Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and
container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
● CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Travis
CI.
● Scripting and Automation: Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Shell, or
PowerShell.
● Version Control: Proficiency with version control systems like Git.
● Security: Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security
measures.
● Monitoring and Logging Tools: Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus,
Grafana) and log management solutions (e.g., ELK Stack).
● Networking: Understanding of networking concepts and cloud networking services.
● Collaboration: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with
cross-functional teams.
● Database Skills: Experience with database management and optimization.
Desirable Skills (Plus):
● Multi-Tenant SaaS: Experience in developing and deploying multi-tenant Software as a
Service (SaaS) solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
● Database Administration: Proficiency in database administration, including MySQL,
MongoDB, and Redis. DBA Experience: Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)
would be advantageous.
● Certifications: Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure
DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer).
● Serverless Computing: Familiarity with serverless computing platforms (e.g., AWS Lambda,
Azure Functions).
● Infrastructure Monitoring: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) monitoring tools.
● DevSecOps: Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools.
