Cust2Mate is a pioneer in innovative smart cart solutions. We are seeking a Software
Integration Engineer to join our dynamic Research and Development (R&D) group. This role is
instrumental in shaping the future of the Cust2Mate smart cart platform by ensuring seamless
integration of software and hardware components.
Role Overview: As a Software Integration Engineer, you will collaborate closely with R&D team
members to gather, assess, and validate the latest software and hardware developments across
the organisation. Your efforts will directly impact the success of our next-generation smart cart
platform. In this role, you will report directly to the CTO.
Responsibilities:
● Technical Troubleshooter: Act as the technical focal point for investigating and resolving
continuous software, hardware and production environment issues and malfunctions.
● Technical Support: Extend technical support during the preparation, installation, and
maintenance of systems.
● Code Integration: Perform code integration activities and branch integration, ensuring
smooth collaboration across development teams.
● Automation: Develop and automate validation capabilities and tools to ensure smooth
rollouts and manage validation processes.
● Tool Development: Modify and create custom tools as needed, while also evaluating and
adopting off-the-shelf tools to enhance developer productivity.
● System Verification: Verify system specifications, input/output processes, and hardware or
software compatibility.
● Cross-Team Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for integration issues, facilitating
communication between hardware, software, customer success, and technical support
teams.
Skills & Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
● Technical Proficiency: Good knowledge of Linux systems, Docker, Docker Compose
frameworks.
● Debugging Expertise: Excellent debugging and profiling capabilities for end-to-end system
flows.
● Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting using Python and Bash.
● Automation Tools: Experience with automation tools and scripting languages, CI/CD
processes and experience with build tools like Jenkins.
● Networking and Security: Understanding of computer networks and security standards.
● Tech. Documentation: Ability to produce professional technical documentation for internal
use.
● Integration Experience: Extensive hands-on hardware/software integration experience in
an embedded systems environment.
● Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct multidisciplinary research and provide clear
conclusions and recommendations.
Desirable Skills (Plus):
● DevOps Experience: Current or previous experience as a DevOps engineer using Kafka,
Kubernetes frameworks and Azure/AWS managed services.
● Database Administration: Experience in database administration (noSQL, MongoDB,
Redis).
● Personal Attributes: Well-organised, autodidact, and team-oriented individual.
